Southwest light rail transit (LRT) is the next light rail line in a regional transit system that will make this region more affordable and competitive for the 21st century. The Southwest line would connect with the Central Corridor line (on schedule to open in spring 2014) and the Hiawatha line, giving residents across the metro the ability to reach many major employers and universities.
